FAQ
When does the season start?
The Raptors football season runs from July - November. Practices begin in July and the first game will be held in late August/early September. The end of the season is dependent on play-off games. As the season approaches, a schedule will be published on our website.
Where are practices and games?
Practices will be held at Longview Recreation Center - Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6p-8p during the regular season.
During the 2023 fall season, games will be held on Saturdays at our league communities home fields. This is a temporary location due to the limited field availability in Spring Hill/Thompson Station, our home field is being built off of Lewisburg Pike/Bethesda Rd, estimated completion date is 2023.
When can I register?
Registration is now open for the 2023 season online and will close in June 2023.
What ages are the teams for?
Both our football and cheer programs are for children ages 5-12. The age cut off for football will be July 31 of the current year. For example, if your child wants to play in the 7-8 age group, he/she must still be 8 on July 31 of the current year in order to be eligible.
Is there a fee?
The registration fee for the regular football and cheer season is $250. This fee is required to be paid upon registration to hold your child's spot on our roster.
What additional documents do I need?
All players must submit a copy of their original birth certificate.
If my child has never played, is that an issue?
Our goal is to help develop and train children while offering a conducive learning environment for every child. Every child is encouraged to join, and every child will be given the opportunity to play in every game.
How will I know if practice is canceled?
If practice is canceled for any reason (i.e., weather) we will post notification on our social media, email correspondence will be sent out, and coaches will communicate with individuals' teams. As social media is the quickest form of notification, all cancellations will be posted there first, with an email of detailed information following.
How are coaches considered qualified?
All coaches are required to take tackle football coaching course online, as well as complete a CDC concussion protocol course. We also require all head coaches to be CPR certified.
